Learning in motion

Thank you!

Thanks so much for all my wonderful cards and presents, very thoughtful. It’s been a really enjoyable year because your children are fabulous little people. I will really miss them but will stay in touch and follow their journey through year 2 on their new blog. In the meantime, have a fabulous summer. If you’d like to stay in touch my email address is domhughesdomhughes@gmail.com. Thanks again, it’s been a blast!

Next year in 2AB

As you know your child will be in 2AB next year. Their classroom won’t be in the usual Year 2 building as that is becoming the Reception building. The four year two classes and three year ones will be in the Key Stage 1 building and, coincidentally, 2AB will be in their old Reception class (currently RST, formerly RJR). Over the summer four classrooms including 2AB will be transformed into 21st century learning spaces so it won’t look or feel anything like the old room!

1DH on Newsround!

If you missed Newsround this afternoon click here to see the fantastic report about the opening of the big red bus library. You’ll spot several 1DH children in the clips.

Final Week!

Yes, we’re nearly there, everyone’s last week in Year 1, some people’s last week at Rosendale (sniff)…There’s plenty going on next week. We’ll be going to see the Year 6 show on Monday. On Tuesday morning, if the weather is ok, I thought we could go to the paddling pool area in Brockwell Park – please let me know if you can come along to help. On Wednesday we’ll have a little class party in the afternoon (lunch as normal) so I’ll put up a list of food and drink children can bring in. On Friday children can bring in a toy to play with, but no computer consoles or anything valuable that might get broken and end in tears! Finally, apologies for not updating the Learning Agreement page, it is now updated. We will be carrying on with the most recent one during the last week rather than starting a new one. Thanks, Dominic

Crazy story

We used the Storycube iPad app to make up a crazy story. Can you still remember how it went?

What shapes can you find?

Try this brilliant shape activity in Google Earth. Click on View Larger Map. Zoom into the coloured placemarks (dark blue is suitable for Year 1, orange Year 2) read the questions, zoom around and explore Paris while testing your knowledge of shapes. How cool is that?
